If you’ve never been backstage at a fashion show, let me tell you, pure chaos ensues.  But I am here to give you a first hand account.  There were a lot of bumps and hiccups that happened along the way.  But by show time, everything was locked and loaded.

Last night’s “Go Green” affair was held at Transit Nightclub.  The night began at about 8:30 when the models arrived looking beautiful even before hair and make-up.  Then came the make-up artists.  It was time to make magic happen.

The make-up artists, Ashley and Niela set up shop and started to beautify.  And since the theme was “Go Green” they were prepared with everything from leaves to flowers to incorporate into the looks.  (View the gallery of images backstage below, pictures taken by the beautiful Tiffany.)

Around 9:00 the vendors arrived.  Skinstinct, an eco-friendly clothing store, was prepared to have their garments rock the runway. Immediately we began fitting the models.  Our accessories stylist, Lynasia was on hand to glam up the models Skinstinct looks with beautiful earrings, bangles, and handbags from Accessory Closet.  Then Khamryn B. Shoe Store arrived and began assigning shoes, accessories, and handbags to each model. (Exclusive video coverage below.)

Around 10:00 I realized that I was being stood up by one of the vendors and went fast forward into panic.  No worries, my wonderful Assistant Coordinator, Muna Atig, helped calm everything.  We came to the conclusion that Skinstinct, Accessory Closet and Khamryn B. Shoes were enough to build a hot fashion show.  Not to mention having a great MC for the show, thanks Arlene!!! (check out her fashion blog http://fashionstyleblackorchid.blogspot.com/)

Not too long after a short panic attack, the models and I reviewed the stage and discussed the finale.

11:15, SHOWTIME! Or not…anticipation needed to build and more patrons needed to walk through the door before this high-energy fashion show began.

Midnight; now that’s more like it.  The models took the runway and awed the crowd.  Take a look for yourself.  Enjoy!
